Monday...pics and update
Me and My Girls
Kayla and Me
Ian Colin and Me
Had a great week end with the kids as usual. Saturday was great...Nicole and James came over for a while and then Ken, the boys and I went grocery shopping. Kayla stayed and played Wii with Jen. Came home..made supper, gave everybody bathes and then we all sat down and watched a movie. Yesterday was church and then we went out for lunch and I took the kids home. Today is laundry day...correction...WAS laundry day. Its all washed, dried and folded..just waiting to be put away. We had a pretty good snow going today for a while but it seems to have calmed down a little now. Nothing much going on today...I'm working on my last book from the library. Tomorrow I've got a bunch of movies to take back and 2 books on hold to pick up. Then at 4:00 I have to pick Jen up at school..usually she rides the bus home but they have a field trip tomorrow and won't be back in time to make the bus...pick Nicole up at 5:00 from work..meet Ken at Camille's in Pittsford for supper then go over to Nazareth College for the last basketball games of the season. Girls start at 6:00 , men's game starts at 8:00. Probably the beginning of tomorrow I'll spend at the library catching up on my magazine reading.

Forgotten Fact from Friday
so ummm..about 11:20 yesterday morning I went out to start the van so it would warm up alittle.. it was cold out and snowing and blowing..I opened the driver side door and thought...hmmm why is there snow on the back of the passenger side seat? Look up and slightly to the right and realize that the passenger side sliding door is open..Look behind the front seats and realize that its probably been open all night. First clue was the 4 inches of snow on the floor behind the front seats but in front of the second row of seats...Oh nuts!!!!!!! In the house...get the broom and sweep the snow out. Shake out a car seat that was also covered in snow. But we weren't late for lunch..LOL. Luckily I got most of the snow out while the van was still cold. Got an e-mail from Shaun (son currently stationed in Iraq). He's trying to get MP and trying to be moved to FT Drum which is a lot closer to home then Colorado.

What a difference 3 days makes
Tuesday I covered a grow bed....
This is the same bed...today
That's ok...I'm a patient person.. I've been pricing new hammocks. Trying to decide if I want one like I had or a closed weave one. I'm still undecided..and as it'll be a while before I 'll be able to use it I've got time to decide.
Picked up the grand kids from their Newark Nana's Thursday morning. I decided it would be a good idea to go to the library and get some movies to watch over the 3 days I had them. It turned out to be a very good idea. Colin was kind of quiet and grouchy all the way. We stood trying to decide what movies to get..I turn around and look at him just as he pukes on the library floor. Phew...if we'd gone right to my house it would have been on MY floor and I would have had to clean it up. Within an hour afterwards he'd eaten peanut butter and jelly and a yogurt and was running and jumping and wrestling with his brother. What ever that bad thing was making him not feel good he got it out. Later that night he was complaining of an ear ache so I put in some drops and gave him some motrin and a little while later he was off and running again. He woke up at 5:30 this morning crying but it might have been because I had the humidifier running in their room and it was pretty loud so he probably woke up and was scared of the noise. We had breakfast and watched a movie...interspersed with some wrestling and then it was off to have lunch with Nicole. We went to McDonald's where Kayla AND Colin both dropped their milks on the floor. The nice floor guy at McDonalds cleaned it up for us. Now they're taking a nap coz we're gonna be up later tonight. I should have taken a nap too...not smart Nana.

Its Started
This morning I just couldn't stand it anymore...oblivious to the fact that it was only 25 degrees out...the sun was shining...sunshine= spring time..(to my little pea sized brain). Spring time= planting time. So I put on my clothes...put on my jacket..and went out side to cover my first grow bed.
The ground...even in the grow bed is frozen solid but not for long...teehee..ok...at least not during the day. I want to be able to plant lettuce and spinach soon.
Now I'm looking for heirloom seeds. Just a fancy word for seeds that you can grow from the parent plant and they'll have the same characteristics of the parent plant. I know its hard to believe but hybrid seeds don't reproduce true to the parent plant. is it spring yet? and can you tell I'm getting cabin fever? Which reminds me....I need to get a new hammock this year. Not the metal part that holds it...just the hammock part. So I can lay in my hammock in the shade, sipping my lemonade, reading my book and looking across the lawn at my green grow beds...when the laundry flapping in the breeze on the clothes lines isn't obstructing my view. I still have to get my lap top computer so I can zip around the internet from outside. I really miss Nicole's I used to be able to sit on the back patio and compute away. So many things I want...so little money...LOL

WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Just got off the phone..Heather called me from Iraq!!!!!! It was so good to hear her voice. She says 6 months to go. It seems like they've been gone forever. They moved Shaun a couple of weeks ago but she said they would forward his box. Now I have to get another one ready to go coz Kayla has Christmas presents for them that I need to send. My heart is still poundng with excitement. I think she also said that his sergeant rank was retroactive back to last August.
In other news...the wind is blowing hard here. And its raining. Glad its warm coz if it was below freezing it would probably be snowing and with this wind it wouldn't be good. I should be doing something other then sitting here in front of this computer but I don't want to.

Nicole is coming for supper tonight.. OH one funny thing happened..I'm sitting here wasting away my time on the computer and I get a text message. Its from Sammy," Oh my goodness i just looked at the january pics ! ( myspace) every time you look at them i am surprised u don't call them shaun. Its even more with the new haircuts" Yes...yes they do look like their daddy. I'll have to scan a pic of him about that age and post it with theirs...LOL. I get my little darlings next week end. I'm picking them up on Thursday so I'll have them all day Friday and Saturday and then take them home Sunday after church. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy few days
Yes it's been busy...Friday my Mom and sister came to the city coz my sister had an appointment with a dermotologist at Strong. They came in early and went with me on my weekly lunch date with Nicole. We went to the Pita Pit on the corner of Alexander and East Avenue. I love Pita Pit. Then off to Strong we went. We were really early because we weren't sure where we had to go once we got there. Ended up being just down the hall from the pulmonary doc I went to. So they froze the skin tags that she had and they're supposed to fall off. They did that with a wart I had once. After that we left and went to Highland Hospital where my cousing had some surgery done on her spine. Um...they went through her throat. Kinda weird but at least she doesn't have to spend days or weeks laying on her stomach. She was out of the hospital the next day. While there however she ended up with something in her eye. I about split a gut laughing at her and her hubby going back and forth. Got home in time to cook supper and then off to pick up sweet Mrs. Wing to go to RU. She said she had an x-ray done Monday and everything is looking good with her wrist. Maybe another 3 weeks and then they're gonna cut the cast off. Nicole and I had Kidz Club this week. Nicole so has a heart to teach kids. She shoulda been a teacher. Saturday I got up..did my devotions...went down and did my walking ( so far the treadmill hasn't died) and then we took off and did the grocery shopping. Came home...made lunch and did some computer stuff. Yesterday they had Battle of the Beaks at Nazareth College. The Nazareth Golden Flyers and the St. John Fisher Cardinals had a charity game with all the proceeds from ticket sales, T shirt sales and profit from the concession sales going to Golisano Childrens Hospital. Last year was the first year and they donated $ 4000. This year it was $ 11000. I was proud to have been a part of it. The Naz women's basketball team lost but the men won. I told Ken I wanted to go to more games. I don't care what games...I just want to go. Then we went out to eat at Mama Sans on Monroe Ave. I think they're a Vietnamese restaurant...I wasn't impressed. Maybe it was jus the meal I ordered...Broccoli rice / tofu and vegetables. It was pretty tasteless..no salt and pepper on the tables ,It probably was very healthy though...they brought hot sauce which kinda looked like salsa but i che wa wa....was it H-O-T. One drop and my tongue was on fire. Today after church we went to Applebees and I had a real meal. Steak with mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. I topped it off with a Hot Fudge Shooter...yep...definitely not very healthy but as Mr Food says, " OOOOOOOO so good." So thats it for now. OH wait...Shaun sent me his new address ( His 3rd since he got there) They finallly gave him his Sergeant rank... Yippee for my baby boy.

What I's been up to
Lets see...a week ago Monday I went to Wegman's and got 90% lean ground beef on sale for $ 1.99/lb. Bought 2 packs...Made 5 lbs of meatballs...7 packs of 18..and 9- 1 lb packages of beef. Went back Saturday and bought 2 more packs...one pack I made hamburgers out of...froze them and repackaged. Yesterday I went and bought a 3 lb package of ground turkey at BJ's..Mixed with the package of ground beef I had left and got 7 meat loaves...6 in the freezer and one for supper last night. I baby sat last night for my hair dresser so she and her hubby could go to a self defense class. Today I baby sat for her again so she could make another food link run..Instead of paying me in money she's paying me in food. Last week it was a 5 pound container of cottage cheese..this week it was lunch..plus 2 packages of oreos and a couple pounds of Wunderbar German Balogna. Its called bartering and I love it. Hubby asked me last night what I thought of expanding our garden. I said fine with me but today in thinking about it I may say fine with me if I get some help taking care of it. Guess that's all the news for now.
