Happy Dance.....

Jim and Nicole left San Diego last night at 10:40 (California time...1:40 AM for us east coasters ). I woke up at 4:00 AM to go potty and checked on the computer to make sure they took off ok...Yep...plane on schedule. Went back to bed but just kinda dozed on and off until 6:08. Got out of bed and found out Nicole had texted me at 11:08 PM, I'm headed home, i'm headed home !!!. I slept right through the text coming in. At 6:10 she texted me was I up yet? Their plane was due in at 10:40 AM in Buffalo. At 8:15 I couldn't take it any more and took off for Buffalo. I had to stop and fill the van with gas. As I was more then 2 hours early I took 490W and got off at the Bergen exit and took 33 all the way to the airport. I was still there at 10:00 AM....I sat right next to the board watching their flight inch its way in. Over the loud speaker comes,"Flight 1612 from Atlanta has arrived" Shortly after Nicole texted me and told me they landed...I told her I already knew...LOL. They finally came out, we grabbed...ok Jim grabbed...their bags. Nicole and I were to busy talking. Poor Jim had a headache and his throat was scratchy and croaky. Stopped in Batavia and got us some lunch...after 2 tylenol and a quart and a half of water his head ache was calming down and his voice sounded a little better. I took them to his Mom's to pick up their car. They were headed to bed for some much needed sleep. They didn't get much over night. I'm so happy they're home and someday when they catch up on their sleep I hope to see them again and all the pictures Nicole says she took.

Catch up

3Jo 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

What a blessing it is when your child talks spiritual things with you and you don't initiate the conversation. That happened to me this week and what a thrill it was to my soul.

Catch up....I know its been forever. Had the grand kids last week end. Didn't do a whole lot..just kinda hung out at the house. Didn't even take many pictures. Computer bit the dust last Thursday but Hubby ressurected it Saturday. Still not sure what the problem was but its running. Nicole and James are in California visiting family. They left Buffalo an hour late Friday and missed their connection to San Diego at JFK. They got flown to Salt Lake City where they spent the night courtesy of Delta Airlines. Flew into San Diego Saturday and took the train to his sister's. Yesterday they went to Anaheim with his uncle and he took them to Hollywood. Today is Jim's birthday and they're going to Disney. We got a guy from church here building us new cellar stairs..our's were falling apart. Guess that's it for now.

Monday morning

Ok..so Friday....I went out to lunch with Nicole. Friday night we did Kidz Club at church..We had a contest going for this Friday between the boys and the girls. Who ever had the most people in attendance won a pizza party. First 3 boys showed up..then one at a time the girls trickled in...another boy.....now the girls are ahead by one...Nicole looks at the clock and says," We'll give them 5 more minutes...the minutes tick by....at 4 1/2 minutes another boy walks in..now its tied. The thing is ...this boy has a brother....all the boys are screaming...is Josh coming???? Yes!!!! Nicole calls time...Josh walks in...the boys throught they were going to sneak him in under the wire..but NO. So everybody ended up having a pizza party..which they would have anyways. The funny thing is had Nicole allowed Josh to count she would have had to count the 3 girls that came in after so the girls would have won. But still everybody would have had the pizza party. It was fun and the kids were really excited. Friday afternoon Angela (the hairdresser witht the kidney stone) called and asked if I could let their dog out Friday night and Saturday. I said sure so Friday night I go over..unlock the door...walk into a dark house and say," Hey Brit wanna go out? " To which I promptly found myself with 2 huge doggy paws on my chest and her tongue in my mouth. Yuck Yuck Yuck...if I ever walk into that house in the dark again I will not be talking...LOL. Saturday after Ken and I went over to feed and potty Brittany ( they only live on the other side of the village) we came home...woke Jen up and went out to breakfast. A new cafe opened in Webster called the Peach Cafe..It's a little expense but the portions are huge. I ordered a breakfast burrito and a side of hash browns...they bring out the breakfast burrito set it down in front of me and I'm thinking..yeah right..no way am I gonna finish this...I did...but I shouldn't have. I was over stuffed for a hour. Then it was off to do the grocery shopping. We picked up a couple of movies and spent most of the rest of the day lounging..except for the trips over to let Brittany out to do her doggy thing. Yesterday was I love my church Sunday. We had all our services in the morning and then lunch. The object was to raise extra money to help pay down the mortgage. Right now for every extra dollar paid on the principal its like having five dollars. The goal was $21,000. Yesterday we raised 17,400 so we're almost there. Came home and I spent the day catching up on e-mail and the blogs I follow. Threw a pot of homemade chicken noodle soup on the stove and a loaf of bread in the oven. Supper was very good. Then we watched the church service from the church where Nicole went to college on the internet. I find it amazing what you can watch on the internet. I know alot of time all you hear is the negative but what a blessing it was to be able to watch a church service. Then I we watched the Amazing Race and actually went to bed early. I didn't sleep very well coz I kept having to get up and take medicine. I went all winter without getting sick and Sunday I wake up with a fever. Not really feeling super bad just warm. OH well it was bound to happen..some people have been sick on and off all winter. I haven't had so much as a cold. Oh yeah...Saturday I also started my seeds...I planted...7 zucchini, 6 yellow squash, 4 cherry tomato, 6 romanine lettuce, 6 iceberg lettuce. 6 eggplant, 24 green pepper and 31 broccoli. Some of the plants are for Mom. So I guess that catches me up for now.

This week so far

Monday....Went out to my Mommy's to pick up some food they had to ship overseas to Shaun and Heather. Came home and packed up two boxes...something I've been telling Shaun I was gonna do for 2 weeks..Get them all packed, taped and addressed. Come in sign online to see how late the post office is open and there's an e-mail from Shaun. We're moving soon don't send anything...AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Ok..send him an e-mail saying its a good thing he told me coz I had a box ready to go. E-mail Heather to make sure she isn't moving also..I don't know if I told that he got his Sgt rank and they moved him to a different company so they aren't together anymore. She e-mails back and says...no she isn't moving. The next morning I get another e-mail from Shaun saying...well if you're gonna mail it today or tomorrow I should get it...run to the post office with 2 boxes..Oh good only only 6 people in line ahead of me...oh nuts...they're all mailing packages and there's only one person working the desk...the slow one. I have to be to school in 30 minutes to help drive on a field trip...do I wait or leave? I decide to wait. After about the 3rd person another postal employee comes out. I still got the slow one..LOL I get out of there with 5 minutes to spare. Luckily I only had to go from Webster to Penfield. Field trip was kinda cool...Lameberton Conservatory in Highland Park. Lots of plants. Its a biology field trip. The van's been making a funny noise so after I drop the kids off at school I call Firestone. Oh..bring it right in. $700 lighter I have 2 new tires, a front end alignment, 2 new radiator hoses, cooling system flush, and adjusted brakes. Wednesday...I was gonna do alot today but frankly it just didn't happen. Went and picked Nicole up at work stopped and picked up Little Caesers for supper.Went to church and had Talents for Christ which is kind of like a talent show that the kids put on. Ok...we're gonna stop at Penfield Wegmans, pick up the stuff I was supposed to pick up in the morning and take Nicole home...WRONG!! Walk into Wegmans and my phone rings.. Its Angela..my hairdresser whom I babysit for on occasion. She's having terrible back pains and can I watch the kids so her hubby can take her to emergency? Hope in the van, fly back to Webster...with Nicole..All the kids are in bed except the baby. James comes and gets Nicole when he gets out of work at 11. The baby who is breast fed is hungry and she doesn't care for the bottle or the formula...Oh yeah..we had a screaming 15 or 20 minutes till she decided it was probably not gonna do any good to scream any more. So she chewed on the bottle for a couple minutes and fell asleep. Put her in her crib..now 12:30 AM and I climb on the couch where I sleep very fitfully for the next 4 1/2 hours. Yeah...they left the house at 8:30 and didn't get back home till 5 this morning..and the little stinker slept the entire time from 12:30 till sometime after I left at 5..I'm thinking...what's gonna happen if she wakes up and wants to eat...not that I'm afraid of her crying but there are 5 other kids asleep and if she cries its gonna wake them up...Lydia was a good girl. Though I had to keep going in and checking on her. So I run to Wegmans at 5 AM to get the stuff I was supposed to pick up yesterday during the day/ after church. Walk in the house..set my purse down and see Nicole's work badge..oh nuts. So at 7:30 I went to her house, picked her up, bought her breakfast and took her to work. Came home started my Red Beans for red beans and rice, worked out on my Wii Fit for a little while till the exhaustion started catching up with me. Shut everything off and tried to sleep...LOL...yeah right. Cell phone rang alot. So I said the heck with it..got up...turned on my red beans again and now catching up on my blog. As You can see I've been very busy.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean Wii...the Wii Fit came yesterday...oh boy...I spent an hour on the thing this morning...yes it does give you a work out. So I made the dough for the 5 minute Artisan Bread yesterday... Just before supper I cut off a grapfruit sized hunk and baked it. It was pretty easy. Crust was crispy but it made a nice meal size loaf of bread. I have another one in the oven now..We're having meat loaf for supper so I'll need the oven for that and today is lunch with Nicole day so I won't be able to make it this afternoon..Well..ok..won't be able to is probably not true...not going to feel like it is more like it. So that's it for now.

Checking in

Not much going on. We had basic cable hooked up today. No more messing with digital converter boxes and rabbit ears...and we get the Hallmark channel...happy happy joy joy. Now if I could only find the TV guide that comes in the paper I'd be a happy girl. At least the sun is shining today. I guess that's it.
